Do yall have turtles??
The exhibits at the zoo were great! Most of the exhibits had 2 to 4 viewing areas so you could get a good view of the animals. There were also markings on the ground spaced at 6 foot intervals for social distancing. At the time of me writing the review, masks we're required.
MoreWe had a great time. Social distancing ensured the facility wasnt over crowded but it did require some exhibits to be closed. The heat kept some animals in hiding but over all it was most enjoyable.
MoreThe Zoo was great today. Although a mask is required in certain circumstances, they are taking every precaution to keep everyone safe. Love the Zoo.
MoreThey're doing a great job making the zoo accessible and safe during Covid
I didn't realize it was the Largest Zoo in the world. It is a good place to take the family and also get some good walking in. My family couldn't experience the entire zoo because COVID-19. But we ended up getting the yearly pass because we plan on returning. You absolutely HAVE TO bring your family here, it is most certainly worth it.
MoreI took my son and my niece to the zoo since they open back up because of the Pandemic. I must say that I love the way that its set up. All traffic throughout the zoo is one way( ex. Enter right, exit left). Everybody isnt all over the place and crossing paths in all sorts of directions. You can tell that staff but alot of work and effort into this park so that we may be able to enjoy it again. Staying 6ft. Apart wasnt always easy to do but the mask help with that.
MoreGood visiy. Lots of exhibits closed. Mask use not as good as hoped.
Everything seems to be covered up, closed, or just plain off. Some of the attractions where there was no interaction have been completely turned off so you couldn't really get a fill a certain things. They need to rethink the layout of everything or reduce the number of people they allow in there so they can open up more. Many people was also disregarding the 6ft and face mask covering. I'm sure it contributes to some of the rise of the pandemic. They should rethink things and back off a little more. Just be careful when you do go. Protect yourself and others.
MoreBeing the largest natural habitat zoo in the world all the animals have lots of room to roam and be free. You just walk about and explore the zoo at your own pace. Countless places to sit down and relax in the shade and all the employers are so friendly and informative! So relaxing... definitely do not want to miss this it's incredible.
MoreSometimes the animals are far away - which I appreciate that they have some place to go that's away from humans but prepare to walk! There is so much included with the price of admission: two play areas for the kids (the stream is my kid's favorite) and the butterfly garden. Plus things you can pay additionally for.We love going.
MoreReservations are required to ensure appropriate social distance. Masks are also required and I recommend bringing water bottles. That said, the park is huge, very shaded with marked trails to ensure they keep crowds going in one direction. Inside exhibits are still not open and the tram does not go to Africa so prepare to hoof it if you want to see Africa.
MoreGreat trip! Huge Zoo! We got to see a lot of the zoo but missed out on some of the cool things that they offer due to stupid corona virus but with the limited stuff we saw, it was still a great visit. Will definitely be back when things are back running normally. We took our 1 & 3 year old and they loved it. This is a great workout pushing strollers up and down the hills and walking ask over the park so be prepared to put in some steps! The polar bear, cougars, lions and giraffes were amazing!
MoreGreat place to visit with the family. Pleasant to see and very educational for all. Nice family atmosphere for all ages. Ride accessories for those that don't do well walking.
MoreThis is one of the nicest zoos I've been to. It was great not having so many people there. The enclosures and exhibits were really awesome.
MoreA very nice place to take your family and friends. It will take you a good walk to see all the animals but it was fun fun fun. I also like during the walk you find place to use restroom and also grab a bite if not enjoy some ice cream while you rest.
MoreSome things were unavailable due to Covid, still an amazing experience
We love the NC zoo! It is nicely shaded and even the walking areas between exhibits are beautiful. I was really impressed with their social distancing measures and felt very safe while there.
MoreWhat a great ZOO! First time here with our family. We made/bought our reservations for 10 am, barely any wait in line. Due to Covid restrictions some of the attractions are closed. But most of the animal exhibits are open. There were water stations to fill up water bottles and some of the outdoor dining areas were open to eat/rest. Please make sure to wear your masks, I believe they do have masks to purchase if available. Overall our family had a good first time visit. Next time we will wait for cooler weather.
MoreAll the indoor attractions are closed and the tram only makes one trip from junction to North America but it's still worth the trip with my four kids and tandem stroller. Dress to work out! The employees are super friendly and try to help guide your experience to make it as good as possible. Most of the water fountains are closed (of course) but any open vender will refill your bottles, without touching them, with time if ice and cold water.
MoreStaff was very nice and pleasant. Mask were wirn by staff and visitors. Staff were helpful with directions.
Morenot like I remember the fear over civil 19 is apparent and over emphasized in an open air zoo. supposedly social distancing and masks help to prevent the spread yet their indoor exhibits were closed, however the Walmart and lowes in town were open.
MoreThe animals didn't move around a lot but we went on a hot day tho.... It's a place for little kids between the ages 3 &8.... Over all had a good time my 6 year old loved it π thats all counts π
MoreThey did a pretty good job of making it safe with one way walking trails and use of masks when in line etc. My. Only issue is the one way tram service only. You have to walk the entire park and it was just too much for us, then at the end you can get a tram back to the entrance. But it was fun, clean, and almost all the walking trails are shaded.
MoreSo beautiful. Even during this time they have great safety precautions. Some food spots are still open too for snacks/taking a break!
MoreNice and clean. Well-organized for visitors to view the animals and visit the gift shop and ride the tram (necessary during this heat) while obeying state COVID restrictions.
MoreWe had not gone to this zoo in a while. Today we decided to roll the dice on a 50% chance of precipitation. We live about an 1hr and a half away from Asheboro so the roadtrip is part of it. Roads were great, clear and no issues. Upon arrival, there is only one parking lot. You can only park at the North America entrance. You must wear a mask while at the zoo! They do enforce it, especially when the space is small. Plenty of signage at the exhibits. Social distancing is present for sure. We made it through and then caught the tram back from Junction as they are not running from Africa. Not sure why... We had a good time and the walk was enjoyable. It did rain but the trees covered us pretty well. Our favorite this time around was the polar bear! Definitely worth the trip and fun family time. Check it out!
MoreHad a lot of fun. A few exibits are still closed due to covid but still worth the trip.
MoreThey're not kidding when they say this is the world's largest zoo.... it's one mile from one end of the zoo to the other. However, the animals have more than enough space to roam around, and you can even go on a ride through a field to see wild antelope and rhinos grazing. This place is more like a nature preserve than a zoo, and I love it. The only downside is that there are only species from North America and Africa, but animals from Asia like Tigers are on the way. Definitely worth the trip.
MoreWow! A busy day with toddlers but so fun! Some of the animals were either getting new habitats or just not on display. That was a bit disappointing but hopefully when the world is functioning again, we can go back. Went on a Tuesday, so not overly crowded.
MoreI love coming here for field trips! The whole zoo is kept clean, the animals are well taken care of, and I like how they have little mini restaurants at most junctions. The bathrooms are nice, and they have water fountains just in case. Had a great time every time I went! I love looking at the wolves as they are some of my favorite animals. They have quite a few viewing areas to pretty much ensure a nice view, unless the animals don't want to come out at all. I completely recommend coming here!
MoreThe Zoo is very nice although many exhibits are closed. The staff has carefully routed all visitors through the Zoo so you can see everything that is open in a safe way. There are still many animals to see and and much to enjoy. Lots of walking and fun for the family.
MoreOne of the most beautiful zoo's that I've ever been too! Just make sure to bring lots of water if you're going in the summer because it's a very long trail. Tons of cool animals to see and there are activities too although they were closed because of Covid.
MoreEven with the Covid-19 precautions in place, the NC Zoo is awesome. Foot traffic flows one way throughout, and there are no indoor animal enclosures open, but plenty to see. Food vendors are available with outdoor seating and water stations for refilling bottles. Helpful volunteers and staff.
MoreThis zoo is amazing. We come here multiple times a year and have purchased zoo memberships the past 2 years (woooorth it). It's clean, there's transportation from one side to the other (well, usually), and if you get an early enough entry time right now you have the exhibits to yourself and I've never seen the animals as active as they are when nobody's watching. Tons of places to stop and take a break, grab a bite, play, whatever. Definitely a good day trip. Bring your walking shoes.
MoreWhat a beautiful zoo! The staff is wonderful. My daughter had surgery a few weeks ago and although she was cleared to go to the zoo the sun and walking got the best of her. She started feeling Dizzy and almost passed out. The staff was wonderful, picked us up in golf carts and drove us right to our car. We will for sure be back when she is ready.
